Mark Nelson, SIOR
Mark Nelson is a Principal with NelsonHill, specializing in commercial property sales ranging in product class from unimproved land, ground up development, commercial and industrial buildings. He has in-depth experience in complex real estate transactions for investment-grade, income-producing assets. Mark develops and manages new and existing client relationships and creates marketing strategies that ensure that clients’ objectives are maximized. Utilizing his extensive market knowledge, Mark develops strategic plans for the disposition and acquisition of assets. His thorough understanding of banking and capital markets is invaluable in assisting clients with complex transaction financing.
Prior to launching NelsonHill in 2010, Mark worked as a commercial real estate broker since 2004 at Paine Wetzel ONCOR International. Mark continues to focus on the City of Chicago marketplace. He works with property owners, tenants, developers and institutions. By gaining an in depth knowledge of his clients’ challenges, Mark provides a full service, entrepreneurial approach which utilizes the best in class technology and resources to enable his clients to achieve the best possible results in the shortest possible time period. In addition, Mark has extensive experience with adaptive reuse of properties. His responsibilities have included conducting sealed bid auctions, identifying qualified developers and preparing feasibility reports on such issues as zoning, physical due diligence and financing.
Mark Nelson was nominated for the 2016 NAIOP Awards of Excellence, “Industrial Broker Transaction of the Year Award”, for the Preferred Freezer deal valued at $112,000,000, a 227,000 SF Build-to-suit transaction at Pilsen Park Chicago.
Prior to real estate, Mark worked in corporate marketing and advertising where he was responsible for new product development, pricing and advertising campaigns.
